Current changes at the airport

The airport has taken numerous measures so that you can take off safely from Düsseldorf. In addition to safety precautions and hygiene rules, a lot is currently different. We have put together the most important changes for you here.

TO & FROM THE AIRPORT

TERMINAL ENTRANCE (Kiss & Fly)
It is still possible to pick up relatives and friends at the airport in accordance with the specified contact rules. Please plan your arrival in such a way that you do not have to stay in the terminal building any longer than absolutely necessary. The barriers to the terminal entrance are currently open. However, this does not override the 10 minute hold rule. Please use the car parks, which are still open, for longer parking periods.

PARKING
With the beginning of the summer holidays, almost all parking spaces at Düsseldorf Airport will be available again as usual. Exceptions are: P2 / P4 / P22 / P23 / P26 


Please note that the parking garages near the terminal can currently only be accessed via the arrival level.

We pass on the reduction in value added tax (VAT) to holiday parking tariffs and daily prices to our customers. You save up to 9%.

Information about online parking space bookings:
If you want to change your online parking space booking due to the current situation, please contact us by email at parken@dus.com and provide your reservation number. We are currently receiving a large number of customer inquiries. If you have already made an inquiry to the Park Service Center, please wait for the feedback and do not contact us several times. Please understand that processing may take some time. All inquiries will be processed as quickly as possible.

SKYTRAIN
The SkyTrain runs on two trains from Monday to Saturday in the operating period from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., which corresponds to a cycle time of approx. 7 minutes.

In the remaining operating hours (3:45 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and from 10:00 p.m. to 0:45 a.m.) and on Sundays, a bus replacement service is in use. The frequency can be adjusted and depend on the respective passenger volume and the traffic situation on the public roads. The journey time between the IC train station and the terminal is around 15 minutes.

Face masks are mandatory in the airport terminal and in the SkyTrain. If the required minimum distance cannot always be maintained due to the spatial and structural situation, mask protection is regulated as a sufficient measure by the Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In any case, you will therefore travel safely.

FLIGHTS & BAGGAGE

INFORMATION 
The airport information in the terminal building is daily open.
Furthermore you can reach the Information Service Center daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone +49 (0)211 421-0 or by E-mail.

BAGGAGE WRAPPING

Safer Bag is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

HAND LUGGAGE
In order to reduce the risk of infection and to protect employees, a maximum of ONE piece of hand baggage per passenger is currently accepted at security controls based on instructions from the Federal Police. The regulation also applies e.g. for handbags or small backpacks if you are carrying a carry-on suitcase or bag at the same time. However, it is possible to stow the smaller piece of luggage in the larger one.

LATE NIGHT CHECK-IN
Please contact the airline to find out if a late night check-in is available for your flight.

LOUNGES

The Hugo Junkers Lounge in Gate B and the Open Sky Lounge in Gate C remain closed until further notice. The Emirates Lounge will also remain closed until further notice. All Lufthansa Lounge-authorized guests can use the Business Lounge. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is currently closed.

CHECKS UPON ENTRY
With regard to the entry requirements, the airport follows the guidelines of the health authorities. To date, these do not provide any temperature scans or other measures when entering or leaving the country. Please inform yourself on the website of the responsible authority.

SHOPS & RESTAURANTS

SHOPS
The shops in the terminal are gradually opening. You can find out which shops are open in our list of Shops that are still open for you.

RESTAURANTS
Many restaurants in the terminal are still closed. However, there is the possibility to buy food and drinks in the terminal and every gate.
These Shops and Restaurants are still open for you.
